Chimney Rock State Park
Take some time to reconnect with nature at Chimney Rock State Park. There is an elevator that treks the 26-stories to the top of the mountain. Once there, check out Chimney Village and spend some time at the shops and eateries tucked into the cliff-face. Lake Lure runs cruises up and down the lake that will provide a history of the area along with points of interest such as the filming locations for The Last of the Mohicans and Dirty Dancing.
Looking to spend a quiet day near the lake? At Flowering Bridge you can enjoy the calm of the pedestrian walkway and the beauty of the flowers.
