Sports Lovers Welcome
If you are a sports fan, and especially if you love college football, Morgantown is your dream vacation spot. The college here is West Virginia University and their pride is something to write home about. Fans are positively fierce, but they are also quick to invite you to join their tailgate parties and take part in the fun. On game days, the parking lots all around the stadium, coliseum, and the rest of town pack with WVU fans to make a city-wide block party. For those not into football, no worries. Morgantown has plenty to offer in the way of hockey, basketball, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and skiing.
City Touring With PRT
Morgantown is a unique site-seeing city because of the Personal Rapid Transport cars on elevated rail lines weaving through the city. This method of site-seeing is much cheaper, more unique, and more effective than taking a plain old bus tour. The PRT is the only one of its kind in the United States. The rail line is unique because it’s the only public transportation in the country to allow riders to get on a car and go directly to their destination without stopping at other stations. It borders the Monongahela River and offers an interesting sky view perspective of the city.
